JAMES OVERELL PARK

Public BBQ

This park is a delightful, open oasis in Southport with a beachfront and spectacular views of the river and the distant Surfers Paradise High Rise. It offers a variety of activities from peaceful riverside strolls to workouts on high-quality exercise equipment along the walking path. The park is dog-friendly with an off-leash area ideal for dogs who enjoy a dip in the water. Evenings offer a splendid view of the sky, making it perfect for amateur photographers. Community meetups, such as the weekly gathering of mini schnauzers, add to the friendly atmosphere. Despite its popularity, the park maintains a relaxed feel and is never too crowded. Visitors should note that the park is near a road, so vigilance is required for the safety of children and pets. The council keeps the park well-maintained, offering amenities such as poo bags for dog walkers.
